1st edition/2nd printing, Delacorte. Unclipped DJ presents beautifully, no chipping or tears, no fading to jacket color, discoloration or soiling on upper left corner of front, light rubbing, some mild age showing to back cover (pictured), tanning at upper edge of both jacket flaps (pictured); blue cloth boards clean with light shelf wear at top & bottom edges, all corners sharp, gilt signature on front board bright, gilt & red lettering at spine gently rubbed but all legible & bright; black pastedowns & freepapers clean, no wrinkling/bubbling to former, text free of markings, binding rather tight for its age. The dust jacket had been placed in an adhesive-based archival vinyl/polyester protector circa the 70s/80s, which can be cleaned but cannot (to my knowledge) be removed from the jacket itself (can be removed from the hardcover book the same as if it was housed in mylar, as shown here); seams of the jacket protector are visible on interior jacket flaps (pictured); likely this is why the dust jacket has been well-preserved, but our price accounts for its inability (ostensibly) to be removed.
