1st edition/4th printing, Lippincott. Unclipped DJ with $5.95 & "Fourth printing" at bottom of flap. Both jacket & boards show evidence of exposure to moisture/some liquid, most of which is visible in attached photos here, but to elaborate: staining/foxing to interior flaps, some discoloration to cover, spine & rear, most noticeably to the latter (shown), with some pinching/wrinkling to both front & back, otherwise jacket is in surprisingly fine shape - only faint toning to spine, but barely, some chipping mostly confined to spine crown & base. Dampstains to lavender boards which are not warped, general wear to edges, silver lettering to spine still sharp; top stain has fading & a few small centimeters of bleed-through to top of pages (which does not interfere with text nor page numbers); soiling/ dampstain to bottom-edge near binding, some light raising to rear pastedown but still attached; some very faint "waving"/rippling at bottom of text but mostly confined to endpapers, pages move freely. Incredibly rare to find in any of its first edition printings without being an ex-library copy of featuring flaws, the latter category being what this copy falls into. Still, a nice & attractive copy that both reads & presents well. Jacket in archival Brodart.
